This week at Escalla I have learnt how to use JavaScript, CSS and HTML and the uses of each when designing a webpage. I also enjoyed helping the others understand the content of this week as I knew a lot of it from high school and college. I also learned PHP which acts as a middle man between databases and webservers which I did not know at the start of the week. Overall, this week has been useful for learning and developing my skills for different coding languages.

This week at work I have sat wit.h different people to gain more of an understanding of what Safetynet does as a company and what we can offer clients. I have worked on internal IT to see how the company is maintained which was interesting. I believe that working on the internal IT has been useful to me as it gave me a chance to see how the topics I learnt at the Escalla training week are applied to a work based scenario. Currently, I am working with the testing part of the company which allows me to play around with the software to get more familiar with the product. I now have a greater understanding of the company from this weeks learning.

Throughout the week I have studied the MTA on Devices and Mobility Fundamentals. Although there was a large amount of content, I believe I have learnt the uses of different applications I have not yet used in a work scenario. I have developed my understanding of how cloud computing works and furthered my understanding of Virtual Machines.  As I have not used many of the features that we have looked at throughout the week it has taken a large effort for me to distinguish between things like rights and permissions. I understand now that permission is what someone or a group can do with a file etc and rights are what a user or group can do on a system. I believe this week has given me a strong foundation to build on in work or any further MTAs.
